These are the rules. We wrote them in plain English because burying important things in dense legalese is a choice, and we chose differently. Each section starts with a short summary so you can get the gist without reading every line.
By using Studyolo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Studyolo. Straightforward.
About Studyolo. Studyolo, Inc. (“Studyolo,” “we,” “us”) operates the learning platform at studyolo.com. These terms govern your use of the website and service.
Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old to use Studyolo. If you're between 13 and 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms. If you're under 13, you can't use Studyolo.
Account. You need an account to use Studyolo beyond the public pages. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure. If you think your account has been compromised: support@studyolo.com
The Service. Studyolo provides AI-generated learning curricula, an adaptive AI tutor, mastery assessment, exercises, exams, and spaced repetition scheduling. Features depend on your plan (Free, Starter, or Pro).
Availability. We aim to keep Studyolo running, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. We'll minimize disruptions and communicate about planned maintenance.
Changes to the Service. We improve Studyolo constantly. If a change materially reduces what your plan includes, we'll let you know in advance.
Acceptable Use. You agree to use Studyolo for its intended purpose: learning. You won't:
Your Content. You own your inputs (tutor conversations, exercise responses, learning prompts). You grant us a license to use that input to operate the service for you. We don't use your individual inputs to train general AI models.
Accuracy Disclaimer. AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies. Studyolo is a learning tool, not a definitive reference. For high-stakes fields — medicine, law, engineering, finance — treat Studyolo as a study aid, not professional advice.
Not a Credential. Mastery scores measure understanding within our assessment framework. They are not professional certifications, academic credits, or regulatory qualifications.
Content Ownership. The generated content is part of the Studyolo service. You can reference it and learn from it. You can't redistribute or commercially exploit it. Your notes, understanding, and knowledge — that's yours, obviously.
Free Tier. The Free plan is free. No trial period, no credit card required, no bait-and-switch.
Paid Plans. Scholar, Polymath, and Laureate are billed monthly or yearly via Stripe; Library is billed monthly. If we raise prices, existing subscribers keep their current rate for at least 60 days after notice.
Cancellation. Cancel anytime from your account settings. Paid features remain active through the end of your billing period. We don't delete your data when you cancel.
Refunds. No automatic refunds for partial months. If you've been charged unfairly, email support@studyolo.com and we'll make it right.
Our IP. The Studyolo platform — code, design, brand, name, logo, and underlying AI systems — belongs to Studyolo, Inc.
Your IP. Your inputs remain yours. The license you grant us is limited to operating the service for you.
Feedback. If you suggest a feature or improvement, we may use it without obligation.
Studyolo is provided “as is” and “as available.” Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
By You. Delete your account anytime from settings. If you have a subscription, cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period.
By Us. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. For non-severe violations, we'll warn you first. For serious violations, we may act immediately.
Email legal@studyolo.com first. These terms are governed by Delaware law. If informal resolution fails, disputes go to Delaware courts.
For material changes, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days in advance. Minor clarifications don't require notice. The current version is always at studyolo.com/terms.
Entire Agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and any plan-specific terms are the full agreement.
Severability. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
No Waiver. Not enforcing a term immediately doesn't waive it.
Assignment. We can assign these terms if Studyolo is acquired. We'll notify you.
